Devlog #01 - The roadmap is taking shape
Welcome to the first Devlog dedicated to the development of Relic Commander. The goal of these posts is simple: to keep you more regularly informed about the game’s progress, the systems currently being developed, the milestones reached, and the next priorities. For this first Devlog, the main topic is the current roadmap. Relic Commander is now reaching an important stage: a large part of the game’s foundations is already in place. Several major systems are now considered functional, including the public website, colony management, planets, research, blueprints, industry, and ship assembly. In other words, the core ideas of the game are beginning to take shape. Relic Commander is no longer just a collection of concepts on paper: its central mechanics are starting to exist, interact with one another, and gradually form the structure of the game. The current development focus is the first implementation of fleets. This is a particularly heavy part of the project, because fleets connect many different systems: ships, modules, cargo, movement, fuel, sectors, detailed visualization, future automation, and later, combat. It is therefore an essential building block, but also one of the most complex systems to integrate properly. The roadmap also shows the next major steps: fleet actions, space combat, and then PvE encounters against the Xenovorus forces. These systems will gradually complete the strategic gameplay loop around exploration, industry, logistics, and warfare. From now on, Devlogs will make it possible to follow the development of Relic Commander more actively. They will be used to share important progress, explain design choices, and show how the game’s different systems are taking shape over time. Thank you to everyone following the project, even from the shadows.
